What is Caught In a Website? Well, first of all, our name is taken from a song by progressive metal giants Dream Theater. Being a huge fan of music, and of progressive metal in particular, Dream Theater quickly became my favorite band in the 90's and 00's and when the time came for me to pick a name for my new website development business, I went to my friends on the Mike Portnoy Forum and asked them for help in coming up with a cool name for the company. Mike Portnoy, at the time, was Dream Theater's drummer. He has since left the band, but he remains a huge inspiration to my music and really to my life as well.
Anyway, eventually, the name "Caught In a Web" came up because it's an actual track on Dream Theater's third album, "Awake" but that was a bit too.....plagiarist for my tastes, so I decided to go with "Caught In a Website" and now, here we are.
I've been building websites since the early days of the internet. My first website that actually looked like a website was a business coaching site I did for the owner of the first company that ever hired me to be a computer technician. That was in 1998. Here's a screen shot of that site from the "Wayback Machine"

I've come a long way since then and so has the World Wide Web. These days, it's all about content management and the ability of web site owners to edit their own content, which has spawned the astounding growth of Content Management Systems (commonly referred to as "CMS Systems") like DotNetNuke, Joomla, Drupal, CMS Made Simple, and others.....
The idea behind these systems is that non-technical website owners can edit their own websites.
